"Lora Fabio has been my voice instructor, mentor, and inspiration since I began taking voice lessons with her my Junior year of high school. I only regret that I didn’t join her studio sooner. While in her studio she trained me vocally as well as interpretively. She always pushed me to strive for musical and technical excellence and she encouraged me to consistently practice at home. Her feedback and corrections were crucial in my development as a singer and actor, and I walked away from each lesson knowing that I had learned or discovered something new and important.
I am very grateful for the variety of repertoire that I was able to accumulate through my years of studying with Lora. I am currently a Sophomore BFA actress with a double major in Vocal Performance at Elon University, and the repertoire that she taught me gave me a huge advantage in the Vocal Performance program. I went into my freshman year of college already knowing foreign language art songs, as well as a large variety of legit and contemporary Musical Theatre pieces. I was also well prepared for the performance aspect of my double major, as Studio Fabio gives students the opportunity to perform in recital concert twice a year.
Lora Fabio genuinely cares for her students, and wants them to succeed, which is why she works so hard to tailor singing techniques that work for each individual student and voice type. I still use all the warmups and techniques that I learned during my time at Studio Fabio. I know that I would not have been accepted into the programs of my dreams, if it were not for Lora Fabio’s teaching, her belief in me, and her continued support. ”

I had been a voice student for three years in Raleigh, but did not begin to notice any difference in my voice until I began studying with Ms. Fabio. In two years, she drastically improved my range, belting ability, head voice strength, overall versatility and confidence. Ms. Fabio gave me the confidence and skills that I needed to pursue a musical theatre degree in college - something I had never thought feasible before I started taking lessons from her. She led me to my acceptance into UNC School of the Arts, an internationally ranked conservatory with a 2.5% acceptance rate. Ms. Fabio is well versed in both the worlds of musical theatre and classical genres and is able to teach both with the same amount of expertise.
Every lesson that I have taken with Ms. Fabio has challenged and improved me as a singer and overall musician. She wastes no time, spending every minute finding ways to improve and strengthen her students’ voices. I leave every lesson with a sense of accomplishment and excitement at tackling my next challenge. I believe that Ms. Fabio provides the best vocal education in the area, and I can fully recommend her without any reservation.

Lora Fabio has been my loving, supportive mentor and teacher for over a decade. I first met Lora when I started taking voice lessons with her as a Junior in high school. She introduced me to the beautiful world of opera and my life was completely changed. Lora was and still is a nurturing and encouraging voice teacher who also has a wealth of experience as a powerful performer. She not only teaches how to sing with proper technique, but she also gets to know each of her students as individuals so that she can tailor her teaching to the interests and personalities of each student. Lora prepared me for college auditions and I received a music scholarship to attend a university out-of-state. After receiving a Vocal Performance degree from Miami University of Ohio, I returned to North Carolina where I have built a regional performance career. I have performed in over a dozen performance venues and Lora Fabio is still always out in the audience - supporting me. My voice has changed and I have grown as a performer over the years - Lora has been there every step of the way. Whenever anyone asks me about recommendations for voice lessons - I always recommend Lora Fabio. Not only can she be trusted to teach healthy technique - but her nurturing spirit and her dedication to her students is unmatched.

"My heart is so full looking back on my time spent with Lora Fabio and her studio! Not only did she transform my voice completely in the three amazing years I spent studying with her, but she also instilled in me a level of preparation and professionalism that helped me tremendously throughout my undergrad work at East Carolinas University's Bachelor of fine arts program. Now approaching the finish line of my undergrad training, she continues to be a HUGE resource in my life graciously passing along helpful information and tips that will better my future! Her intense training helped me dive deeper in areas of acting and fundamental musicality. She has so much to offer and will go above and beyond to get a student where they need to be. Above all this, she is a delight to be around; funny, intelligent and oh so talented! Without Lora, I would not have the love and passion for the arts that I have now! I can't thank her enough for helping me become the performer I am today!"

"I cannot recommend Ms. Fabio enough! I have studied with her for five years, and she has taught me so much. I am entering my freshman year as a Musical Theatre major at Liberty University, and all of the things I learned with Ms. Fabio have prepared me to enter this next stage of my life. I could not be the artist I am without Ms. Fabio’s endless love, support, and instruction. She not only teaches how to properly use the voice as an instrument, but also how to connect emotion and motivation with lyrics and music. When I run into a problem vocally, she does not rest until she has helped me solve it. She will not settle for “good enough”—she works with me until I sound the best I possibly can! My sound has gotten so much stronger through the time I have spent working with her. She has coached me for countless auditions, including a substantial scholarship contest for regional vocal and instrumental musicians which I was blessed to win! During the years I worked with Ms. Fabio I had the pleasure of performing the lead roles in Tarzan, West Side Story, White Christmas, and The Little Mermaid at North Raleigh Christian Academy. With Ms. Fabio on your team, you can be sure that you will learn how to perform at your best as a singer and as a person!"

"I began taking voice lessons at Studio Fabio during the summer before my 8th grade year. I had just started seriously performing in theater, and I was looking to improve my vocal performance abilities. Several friends who were already studying with Ms. Fabio highly recommended that I approach her about signing up for private voice lessons. Over these last five years, Ms. Fabio has grown and transformed my voice in ways I could not have anticipated when I began. If it weren’t for Ms. Fabio’s excellent instruction, I am certain that my voice would be nowhere near as strong as it is today. I have gained confidence not only in my singing, but also in my knowledge of vocal physiology and health. I have been blessed with many opportunities to perform vocally challenging lead roles in Tarzan, West Side Story and The Little Mermaid at North Raleigh Christian Academy. Ms. Fabio has patiently worked with me to ensure that I performed at my utmost best. She encouraged me to pursue singing and acting techniques beyond my comfort zone that ultimately ensured that my stage experiences were all amazing and joyous. I am so grateful for my time spent at Studio Fabio. I will carry the lessons, and vocal techniques with me to every future singing endeavor. Thank you Ms. Fabio for all that you have done to help me improve so much as a singer and actor!"

“I began taking lessons with Ms. Fabio the summer before my Senior year of high school, and I regret not starting sooner! I have been singing ever since I was a little girl, but not until I began lessons with Ms. Fabio did I learn how to properly use my voice, and bring it to its full potential. She assessed my level during my first lesson, and started me on practice exercises perfectly suited for my voice, and began teaching me a classical piece. I had little to no classical knowledge about voice, but she diligently taught me and encouraged me.
Because of my summer lessons with Ms. Fabio, I decided I wanted to choose voice as my "primary instrument" in college - I knew I was going to be a Music Composition major already. She prepared me for college auditions in about 3 months, and I auditioned successfully at Appalachian State and Belmont University for Classical Voice. I ended up receiving a $6000 scholarship to Appalachian, and a $28,000 scholarship to Belmont University. For both of these places, scholarships of this amount for voice are almost unheard of.
Because of Ms. Fabio, I learned the skills I needed for my auditions, prepared classical pieces for these auditions, learned how to better use and protect my voice, and gained confidence as a vocalist. I know God used her to bring me where I am today. I will be majoring in Music Composition with a focus in Classical Voice at Belmont University, and I know I would not be if I hadn't studied with her! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an experienced, encouraging, and excellent voice teacher.
She really is the best!”

“When I discovered my tenor voice in my junior year in high school, my choral teacher, Mr. Mullinax, advised me to take private lessons with Ms. Fabio; claiming that it will help me grow as a singer. It did that and much more.
In a year, not only did I grow as a singer, but as a person and an artist. Ms. Fabio taught me that singing is MUCH more than the ability to make beautiful sounds, but is a much more emotional, expressive task. Her teaching challenges you; demanding that you reach a higher level of performance than normally accepted.
I'm happy to say that I've worked with some of the most beautiful art songs of the 19th & 20th centuries. With an arsenal of art songs under my belt (English, German, Italian, French and now even Russian), I have accomplished many things in this year: I was accepted into the North Carolina's Honors Chorus, received a 100% at Solo & Small Ensemble (which was the first time in Wakefield High School history), was accepted into the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University and I was accepted into the music school at Mars Hill College where I received a full scholarship for Vocal Performance. Currently I am awaiting auditions for the NC Opera, Asheville Lyric Opera and Asheville Symphonic Chorus.
Without Mrs. Fabio, none of this would have been possible. She has become more than just a teacher for me, but a caring, loving friend and I will always remember the time we spent together.”

“I had never taken voice lessons until I worked with Ms. Fabio. She saw my vocal potential and helped me blossom. Her skills allow her to gauge where you are vocally and what to do to improve. She supports her students and does her very best to see them excel.
My experiences with her over the last six months, as she prepared me for the lead role of the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, have been the best thing that I've ever done. Her lessons, time, effort, cooperation, and skills gave me confidence in executing the role of Phantom. You name a goal you wish to achieve in opera, music, voice and she will see to it that you have the most professional qualifications to accomplish that goal.
She truly has a servant's heart and an incredible way of teaching, mentoring and motivating you in the field of professional voice.”

“I first met Lora Fabio when we performed together in Carolina Ballet's production of Carmina Burana. We agreed at the cast party: I would pursue my dream of being a "Dancer Who Sings" on Broadway at Studio Fabio. From there, Lora met my needs as she addressed my completely untrained voice. Lora worked with my performance schedule and gave me plenty of exercises to do at home between lessons. She gave me the skills, tools and the positive environment I needed to make the music in my heart a real, bold, competitive package.
A year later, I didn't realize how fast my vocal technique had grown; that is until I performed with Lora's studio. In a recent audition trip to New York City, I found that these strides are nothing casual; I have been called back for a lead role at an Equity regional theatre, I have cut a demo and secured an agent. By Lora's hand, I am a contender, and I feel confident making my move to New York City.”

"Lora Fabio provides vocal technique in a nurturing environment. She possesses musical and acting skills along with a wealth of experience in the world of performing arts. Because I learn best from imitation, I appreciate how Lora is so willing to demonstrate. I am constantly inspired by her beautiful lyric soprano voice, which she does not hesitate to incorporate during lessons. Lora not only demonstrates vocally, but she is a wonderful actress as well. I let go of many acting inhibitions with Lora that I have had trouble getting past with other teachers. Lastly, I think Lora’s most important trait is how deeply she cares for her students - not only as singers and musicians, but as young women. She is a beautiful woman of God. She gave me confidence and affirmation of my strengths and encouraged me to take risks as a singer. Above all, she has become a key figure in my testimony of faith. ”
